Military Kids Reunite After 17 Years
Seventeen years ago, five families stationed at the Edwards Air Force Base in California never thought they'd cross paths again. Now, five of those military kids have found themselves together again - studying at Cedarville University. For some, it's been a complex, winding journey to arrive at Cedarville. For others, they've always known that Cedarville was where they'd end up. Between the five of them - Kai Delsing (sophomore, Dayton, Ohio), Anna Armani (freshman, Louisville, Kentucky), Sarah-Kate Drown (freshman, Huntsville, Alabama), Abigail Jaquish (freshman, Sugarcreek Township, Ohio) and Simon Ross (freshman, Rosamond, California) - they've lived in over 20 states and two countries. All of them were homeschooled at some point.

A Heart to Build and Serve: A Student's Passion for Engineering and Missions
Can a computer engineer go into full-time missions? Over the summer, Zoe Schmidt learned the answer is yes. Schmidt, a junior computer engineering student at Cedarville University, fell in love with computer programming in high school. She joined a FIRST Robotics Competition team and has been hooked on engineering ever since.

Each Sunday evening, as Cedarville students knock on the doors of refugee children in inner-city Dayton, they are met with smiling faces. This year, approximately 40 Cedarville students are a part of King's Kids, a ministry that serves children who have come to America from the Congo.

Students Perform in the Inversions Fall Concert
Just in time for dropping temperatures, Cedarville University's acapella group, The Inversions, will be performing its first Christmas-themed concert November 11-12. The Inversions are set to perform its annual fall concert at the Cedarville Opera House located on North Main Street in downtown Cedarville on Friday, November 11, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, November 12, at 7 p.m. The group will also be performing a matinee at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 12.

A Heart for Medical Missions Brings Cedarville Grad Back to School
After crisscrossing the nation as a traveling nurse for about four years, Abby Tomlinson of Cincinnati, Ohio, returned to Cedarville University to pursue the online Master of Science in Nursing family nurse practitioner degree with the global public health track. For Tomlinson, a 2014 graduate of Cedarville, nursing runs in the family, beginning with her great-grandmother. She realized early on that she had an interest in anatomy and was fascinated by health care and the healing process.

Headed for Hollywood: Cedarville Student Wins Scholarship
Little did Summer Lange know that when she went to Cedarville University to study computer engineering, she could end up leading the next generation in the world of motion pictures and television. Lange, a senior computer engineering student from Juneau, Alaska, was awarded the Louis F. Wolf Jr. Memorial scholarship by the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE). This annual scholarship is granted to an undergraduate or graduate student in engineering, science, or a technology-related field who is pursuing a career that contributes to the world of motion pictures and television.

Deep Calls for Life: Students Seeking Organ Donor for Professor
Deep Calls for Life, a student-led campaign at Cedarville University, is taking drastic measures to help Dr. Chuck Elliott, senior professor of communication, find a kidney donor. This campaign not only demonstrates a deep love and support for the students' beloved professor, but also to address the need for organ donation. Deep Calls for Life is a student-initiated campaign from Professor Derrick Green's Virtual Communication class. Students who are participating with Largent and Force are Madelyn Robey, a senior from West Chester, Ohio who is majoring in marketing; Janessa Colburn, a senior communication major from Damascus, Oregon, Hannah Kuntz, a sophomore communication major from Liberty Township, Ohio and Haley Thompson, a senior broadcasting major from Ruskin, Florida.

Cedarville Students Help Host GMA's Dove Awards
Twenty-three worship students from Cedarville University will have the unique opportunity to help host the Gospel Music Association's (GMA) 53rd annual Dove Awards in Nashville, Tennessee. This is the fifth time Cedarville has been asked to participate in the event. Emma Haylett, a sophomore from Denver, Colorado, majoring in worship and minoring in songwriting, was involved with the Dove Awards last year and will return this year. Last year, she served as a talent escort for We The Kingdom's kids' choir from southeastern Asia called His Little Feet.

Nursing Student Attends Medical Missions Conference
The nonprofit organization Samaritan's Purse hopes to positively impact students through its upcoming Prescription for Renewal Medical Missions Conference in Orlando, Florida. Samaritan's Purse is investing in eight Cedarville University students majoring in nursing and four nursing faculty members by sending them, all expenses paid, to its medical missions conference. The conference will be held September 15-18. Cedarville is one of three universities Samaritan's Purse is supporting at the conference. One conference session, "Living Legends: A Life of Service," will honor heroes of medical missions, including Dr. Bob Cropsey - the grandfather of Cedarville junior Molly Cropsey, who is one of the eight nursing students attending the conference.

The Cedarville University School of Pharmacy's student chapter of the National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) won six awards at the organization's annual conference on July 29-31 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Two students were additionally recognized by Cedarville University's School of Engineering and Computer Science for their effort. Sanderson won the Daniel Award to recognize his consistent spiritual leadership throughout his senior year, which was exemplified by his sharing of the Gospel on TV during an interview with NASA at the competition. Titus won the Engineering Design Award for his work on the air brake system on the rocket.

Rocket Team Lifts Off at NASA Competition
The Cedarville University Student Rocket Team took flight at the NASA Student Launch 2022 competition in Huntsville, Alabama, placing second in two categories during the three-day competition in April. Team members include team leader Chad Sanderson of North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania; Jacob Titus of Medford, New Jersey; Peter Duttweiler of Montgomery, Texas; Nehemiah Branson of Kingston, Ohio; Dawson Tso of Dublin, New Hampshire; Forrest Putnam of Glenwood, Washington; and Grant Dupler of Amanda, Ohio.

Winning on Autopilot for Cedarville Engineers
A team of Cedarville University engineering students navigated its way to first place in the Autonomous Vehicle category at the 29th annual Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition June 3-6 in Rochester, Michigan. The victorious team finished in the Auto-Nav Challenge in 5:05 to win the $3,000 prize. Dr. Clint Kohl, senior professor of computer engineering, advised the team of four students, all of whom graduated in May. The team included Joshua Blackburn from Mount Gilead, Ohio; Rachel Judy from Springfield, Ohio; Drew Murphy from Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania; and McKenzie Barlow from Fork, Maryland.

Linguistics Graduate Starts ESL Program
Developing a new English as a second language (ESL) program was never what she had in mind, but Ashleigh Stout is proving that the most foreign experiences can oftentimes be the most fulfilling. Linguistics graduate Stout from Salem, North Carolina, entered her freshman year at Cedarville University envisioning herself becoming a sign language interpreter or Bible translator, never seriously considering a career in education.
