In Mansfield, Ohio, the 179th wing of the Air National Guard is being converted into the first cyberspace wing in the Air National Guard, positioned specifically to defend against cyber threats to national security. In the midst of this cutting-edge program are three Cedarville University cyber operations students, senior Ben Lamoreaux, his brother, sophomore David Lamoreaux and junior David Reid. These cyber operations students are involved in the Air Force's cybersecurity initiatives in different capacities. Reid serves as a cadet in the Auxiliary, while the Lamoreaux brothers serve in the Air National Guard.

In 2005, 18 families from the U.S., unknown to each other previously, adopted daughters from the Hunan province in China. All born within six months of each other, the girls were placed into their new parents' arms in the same room on the same day. Two of those girls were Hannah Woller and Sophia Delp. Liz Breedlove, 20, will start a one-of-a-kind internship with Dayton Children's Hospital's multi-clinical The Center for the Female Athlete. She will begin the internship on May 30. For Breedlove, a native of Big Island, Virginia, securing the internship will help her as she pursues a master's degree in athletic training from Cedarville University in Ohio. Breedlove is enrolled in the accelerated sport medicine track at Cedarville and transitioned into the master's program summer of 2022.

Most college students start school at the age of 18 and graduate four years later. But for one Cedarville University senior majoring in computer science, he's getting a major head start. David-Bryne Adedeji from Lagos, Nigeria is set to graduate Saturday, May 6 from Cedarville's computer science program at the young age of 19.

Cedarville University is a step closer to enrolling its inaugural cohort in the new physician assistant (PA) program with student orientation and faculty hires completed. The program, which received Accreditation-Provisional* status from the ARC-PA last fall, begins on May 8. The graduate program held an on-campus in person orientation on March 3 for its first cohort of students. A class of 25 junior-level primary (preschool-fifth grade) education majors brought the zoo to Ukranian refugee students at Grace Evangelical Christian School in Galloway, Ohio, through an animal-themed literacy day on March 27. From 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., each of the Cedarville teacher-candidates ran a different activity around the central theme of the zoo. Nine classes from grades kindergarten through third participated in these interactive activities designed to enhance literacy.

When Hannah Bradley was 4 years old, she sat mesmerized as she watched her first Broadway musical, "Beauty and the Beast." Now, 16 years later, she is headed back to New York City to spend the summer studying theatre performance at one of the most prestigious conservatories in the United States. Bradley, a junior theatre major from Pittsboro, Indiana, will be studying at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City, founded in 1949 and famous for training actors using the method approach, an intensive physical and emotional preparation for a role that allows actors to empathize with their character. Alumni of the academy have become household names, including Marlon Brando, Candice Bergen, Warren Beatty, Mark Ruffalo and Robert De Niro.

Cedarville University's Model United Nations (U.N.) team achieved great success at the 2023 Model U.N. competition in New York City April 2-6. Competing against students from colleges throughout the world, Cedarville's Model U.N. team came away with the Outstanding Delegation award - the highest team award at the event. Cedarville represented the country of Namibia, a country of 2.7 million people in southern Africa. "The students excelled throughout the competition, and being recognized as the most outstanding delegation is evident of their work," said Dr. Glen Duerr, professor of international studies and faculty advisor for Cedarville's delegation.

Helping young students at Cedar Cliff Elementary School is the purpose of a literacy night planned by faculty and students in Cedarville University's School of Education. The eighth annual event will be on Tuesday, March 21, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the elementary school.

Balancing the life of a full-time college student while preparing for a career in the military can be difficult. But one Cedarville University student is being rewarded for his leadership and excellence as a Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) cadet. Senior psychology major CDT David Abraham from Elyria, Ohio, was selected as a recipient of the LTG Edward Honor Sr. Scholarship. The award is one of two scholarships awarded annually by the National Board of Rocks, Inc. Abraham will receive $3,000 and will be featured in both the Rocks, Inc Quarterly Journal and the upcoming Rocks, Inc GALA magazine.

For Nishant Nedungadi, working on classified government projects in a physics laboratory was not necessarily what he envisioned when he pursued a degree in computer science at Cedarville University. But after two summer internships with John Hopkins University's Applied Physics Laboratory, Nedungadi has accepted a full-time position with the prestigious research facility.

This April, Cedarville University's theatre department will perform its adaptation of one of William Shakespeare's best-loved comedies: "Much Ado About Nothing."
