Alyx Vissing's Summer Internship Turns Into Job

Cedarville University senior Alyx Vissing had hoped that her internship at Trans World Radio (TWR) would lead to a full-time position with TWR. Vissing is a senior broadcasting, digital media and journalism major with an emphasis in radio from Willow Wood, Ohio. After graduation in May, Vissing will return to TWR as a full-time missionary serving as the Women of Hope audio/visual production coordinator. In this position, Vissing will plan and produce all audio and visual content for TWR-Women of Hope, which includes recording and voicing content, finding and training talent and editing and producing the finished product.

Students Return to D.C. After COVID Pause

The COVID-19 pandemic left students without the classes, opportunities and trips they'd been excitedly anticipating from Cedarville University's D.C. semester program. But nearly a year after shifting to remote classes at the end of the 2020 spring semester, deferring ceremonies and canceling study abroad programs, some opportunities are being reinstated, ushering students back into the classroom and the airport.

Anderton Making an Impact in Cancer Research

Her internship with the Hormel Institute at the University of Minnesota has been virtual, but Cedarville University senior Leah Anderton is making a real impact as co-author of a scholarly paper on cutting-edge cancer research. Anderton began her internship this summer at the Hormel Institute, which is only about an hour from her home in Rochester, Minnesota. Because of COVID-19 protocols, the internship was cancelled, however, Anderton had the opportunity to volunteer remotely with a genomics researcher from the Institute and she will continue this role this fall.
