That's why two Cedarville University School of Pharmacy spring break mission trips sought to transform the lives of underserved populations, both domestically and internationally, by meeting people's medical and spiritual needs.

Claire Xu, a visual communication design student from Qinqdao, China, accepted an internship with Daor Design - founded and run by Sarah Harkleroad, a 2006 Cedarville alum - helping small businesses across the country build their brands and grow their businesses with tailored digital marketing strategies.

One could say Annie Rourke and Jonathan Gregory do everything together. The pair of engineering students at Cedarville University plan to keep it that way with a wedding and mutual job designing missiles and rockets on the horizon.

A class of 25 junior-level primary (preschool-fifth grade) education majors brought the zoo to Ukranian refugee students at Grace Evangelical Christian School in Galloway, Ohio, through an animal-themed literacy day on March 27. From 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., each of the Cedarville teacher-candidates ran a different activity around the central theme of the zoo. Nine classes from grades kindergarten through third participated in these interactive activities designed to enhance literacy.

When Hannah Bradley was 4 years old, she sat mesmerized as she watched her first Broadway musical, "Beauty and the Beast." Now, 16 years later, she is headed back to New York City to spend the summer studying theatre performance at one of the most prestigious conservatories in the United States. Bradley, a junior theatre major from Pittsboro, Indiana, will be studying at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City, founded in 1949 and famous for training actors using the method approach, an intensive physical and emotional preparation for a role that allows actors to empathize with their character. Alumni of the academy have become household names, including Marlon Brando, Candice Bergen, Warren Beatty, Mark Ruffalo and Robert De Niro.

The speech and debate team proved this point earlier this month when it won the National Christian College Forensics Invitational (NCCFI) tournament held March 30 through April 1 at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. Cedarville won 50 awards, including 10 individual student national championships. In addition to Cedarville winning the national championship team award, the group also placed first in the speech division and third in the debate division.

Cedarville University's Model United Nations (U.N.) team achieved great success at the 2023 Model U.N. competition in New York City April 2-6. Competing against students from colleges throughout the world, Cedarville's Model U.N. team came away with the Outstanding Delegation award - the highest team award at the event. Cedarville represented the country of Namibia, a country of 2.7 million people in southern Africa. "The students excelled throughout the competition, and being recognized as the most outstanding delegation is evident of their work," said Dr. Glen Duerr, professor of international studies and faculty advisor for Cedarville's delegation.

Helping young students at Cedar Cliff Elementary School is the purpose of a literacy night planned by faculty and students in Cedarville University's School of Education. The eighth annual event will be on Tuesday, March 21, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the elementary school.

For Nishant Nedungadi, working on classified government projects in a physics laboratory was not necessarily what he envisioned when he pursued a degree in computer science at Cedarville University. But after two summer internships with John Hopkins University's Applied Physics Laboratory, Nedungadi has accepted a full-time position with the prestigious research facility.

Balancing the life of a full-time college student while preparing for a career in the military can be difficult. But one Cedarville University student is being rewarded for his leadership and excellence as a Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) cadet. Senior psychology major CDT David Abraham from Elyria, Ohio, was selected as a recipient of the LTG Edward Honor Sr. Scholarship. The award is one of two scholarships awarded annually by the National Board of Rocks, Inc. Abraham will receive $3,000 and will be featured in both the Rocks, Inc Quarterly Journal and the upcoming Rocks, Inc GALA magazine.

This April, Cedarville University's theatre department will perform its adaptation of one of William Shakespeare's best-loved comedies: "Much Ado About Nothing." The show will run April 13-23 in the DeVries Theatre. Tickets can be purchased online or at the information desk in the Stevens Student Center.

Community health involves keeping the public informed on how to make safe and effective medical decisions. This is exactly what Dr. Justin Cole, associate professor of pharmacy practice at Cedarville University's School of Pharmacy, is pursuing with colleagues in a study on the effects of cannabidiol (CBD) products on children with mental health challenges. Cole, along with Dr. Aleda Chen, associate dean and professor of pharmacy practice, and two fourth-year Doctor of Pharmacy students, Katie Schwaller from Washington Township, Ohio, and Zach Krauss from Temple, Texas, sought to determine the impact of unlicensed CBD products on children struggling with anxiety, autism or ADHD.

It's no secret Cedarville University students continue to excel postgraduation, and that couldn't be more true for Hannah Dunham, senior political science major from Southgate, Michigan. Chosen as one of only 80 students nationwide, Dunham will spend her summer learning Russian through the U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship Spark Program (CLS).

As students study, socialize or stroll through the Stevens Student Center, they can hear encouragement from Cedarville University's Resound Radio play through the speakers. Whether it's uplifting music or encouraging conversation, Resound makes an impact through radio. But the campus community is not alone in hearing the inspiring programming from this student-led radio ministry. The Christian Music Broadcasters Association (CMB) is aware of Resound Radio, which is evident by the Cedarville station being nominated for the new University Student Station of the Year Award by CMB. Resound is one of five university nominees for the station award, judged based upon outstanding achievement in community service, kingdom impact, on-air presentation and digital media communication. Stations must play Christian music for the majority of the broadcast day and have at least one person on staff who is a CMB member.

Sometimes the best things come in small sizes. So, it came as no surprise when Willer, as a college freshman, started a business that showcased his love and talent for design and creativity.

Excellent academics and personal character lead to excellent internships. For Tate Kessler, a junior accounting major from Langhorne, Pennsylvania, that means working at one of the top accounting firms in the nation. Kessler previously worked as a tax and auditing intern at Rea & Associates, a top 100 public accounting firm based outside of Cleveland, in the summer of 2022. However, when it came time to apply for the upcoming summer, Kessler worried he was overly ambitious.

They say experience is the best teacher - a point proven by Cedarville University finance students in the applied portfolio management course. Working with funds provided by the university, students invest in real markets as a hands-on way to gain experience in the financial trading world.

Each year, Cedarville University's Integrated Business Core (IBC) program generates student groups that design and sell their own products. The program combines students pursuing degrees in marketing, management and finance, and the yearlong practicum helps students to develop a product, business plan and a funding system.

Four Cedarville University forensics students claimed state championship titles at the Ohio Forensics Association's State Championship at John Carroll University on February 18. In addition to the individual accomplishments, Cedarville's debate team placed first in debate, while the forensics team finished third overall behind Akron University and Ohio University.

Students in Cedarville University's Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) NuNu Chapter - the communication program's honors organization - will be writing notes of encouragement to senior citizens and university professors during a March 14 event in the Tyler Digital Communication Center. The honor students' evening of encouragement will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Observing an expert is one of the best ways to learn, and Cedarville University's Master of Athletic Training students are taking shadowing opportunities to the next level with the program's new immersive experiences.

Allowing pharmacies to have access to electronic patient medical records is a game-changer in health care. And, at the forefront of this new development in Ohio is CedarCare Village Pharmacy director Dr. Justin Coby. Coby's research into the benefits of electronic health records (EHR), with assistance from Dr. Martha Abraham, instructor of pharmacy practice, and Zach Krauss, a Doctor of Pharmacy fourth-year student, is expected to provide faster and more holistic health care to patients.
