The smell of sugar and almonds wafted through the air as the warmth from the oven basked the kitchen in a comforting embrace. Even more heartwarming, though, was the joy that 10-year-old Eve Welhener shared with her grandmother. The pair had just baked macarons, a French sandwich cookie that is notoriously difficult to make, for the first time - and they tasted perfect.

If you saw most Cedarville University students on their computers, you would likely assume they were studying. But one freshman business management student, Addi Melvin, is also likely to be found teaching virtual riding lessons from her residence hall room.

For the first time in Cedarville University history, a mock trial team competed in a collegiate tournament and finished the competition at St. Bonaventure University as one of the top teams. Overall, the two Cedarville teams of 19 students total, won four out of eight judges' ballots.

Kaley Aurand, a 2023 criminal justice graduate of Cedarville University, was sponsored by the Xenia Police Department (XPD) in the completion of her training at the police academy. Claire Xu, a visual communication design student from Qinqdao, China, accepted an internship with Daor Design - founded and run by Sarah Harkleroad, a 2006 Cedarville alum - helping small businesses across the country build their brands and grow their businesses with tailored digital marketing strategies.

Liz Breedlove, 20, will start a one-of-a-kind internship with Dayton Children's Hospital's multi-clinical The Center for the Female Athlete. She will begin the internship on May 30.

Students at Cedarville University are known for their excellence in effort, and Alison (Bachowski) Hartong is no exception, as she is headed for a prestigious fellowship in the fall.

"Do you need a phone case?" This was the question asked by Jack Boesch, a young entrepreneur who owned more than 5,000 cases from a $125 investment. What was the high school senior going to do with this volume of phone cases? Boesch, with a $5,000 profit from his phone case investment, was able to repay a loan from his dad and finance his first year of college by selling the cases. And, in the process, his life was permanently changed.
