Strength in Weakness: Cedarville Grad Coaches Team for the Red Sox
It's the dream of every young baseball player to make it to the major leagues, and Max Miller is helping rookies make it to the Boston Red Sox. A 2021 Cedarville University graduate with a degree in exercise science, Miller recently accepted a position with the Florida Complex League (FCL) in Ft. Myers, Florida. He works as an assistant strength coach for the FCL Red Sox, a minor league team owned by the Boston Red Sox.

5,000 Phone Cases: One Entrepreneur's Journey to Cedarville
"Do you need a phone case?" This was the question asked by Jack Boesch, a young entrepreneur who owned more than 5,000 cases from a $125 investment. What was the high school senior going to do with this volume of phone cases? Boesch, with a $5,000 profit from his phone case investment, was able to repay a loan from his dad and finance his first year of college by selling the cases. And, in the process, his life was permanently changed.

Standing With Giants: Josiah Kareck's Journey With Theatre
Standing on a stage in front of hundreds of people has never been a foreign concept to Cedarville University fifth-year theatre student Josiah Kareck. Kareck, however, is moving from the college stage to the prestigious Darkhorse Theatre in Nashville, Tennessee, to perform in "The Crucible," which opens October 13. The up-and-coming actor is taking a gap semester from Cedarville to advance his performing skills alongside veterans of the stage with Elite Studio Works in Nashville.

A New Era for Cedarville University's Student Entrepreneurship Organization
A cue is a call to action, and that is exactly the mentality the Cedarville University entrepreneurship organization, CUE, seeks to have. Standing for Cedarville University Entrepreneurship, "CUE" has recently rebranded from the former Startup Society. They hope this change will start a new chapter for the student organization. "We want to make sure that this is an org that's a melting pot of different majors. We don't want to just be a business org," said Annie Alexander, the president of CUE and a junior accounting major from Rochester, New York. "We want to have everyone so that everyone can bring their different strengths, skillsets and ideas to the table. Everyone has a different perspective on the world and on problems that people face." This melting pot goal is reflected in the org's motto - Entrepreneurship is a mindset, not a minor."

Crowned Chains and the Integrated Business Core
Starting a business is difficult, but for 10 Cedarville University students, launching the jewelry company Crowned Chains has had a very successful start. As part of the Robert W. Plaster School of Business' Integrated Business Core (IBC) program, the students created jewelry products, and within 20 minutes of their launch, sold $1,300 worth of products. The high volume of sales represented the largest amount of revenue for any IBC startup since the program began in 2002.

Cedarville Cybersecurity Students and the 179th Cyberspace Wing of the Air Force
In Mansfield, Ohio, the 179th wing of the Air National Guard is being converted into the first cyberspace wing in the Air National Guard, positioned specifically to defend against cyber threats to national security. In the midst of this cutting-edge program are three Cedarville University cyber operations students, senior Ben Lamoreaux, his brother, sophomore David Lamoreaux and junior David Reid. These cyber operations students are involved in the Air Force's cybersecurity initiatives in different capacities. Reid serves as a cadet in the Auxiliary, while the Lamoreaux brothers serve in the Air National Guard.

From Crib Mates to Roommates
In 2005, 18 families from the U.S., unknown to each other previously, adopted daughters from the Hunan province in China. All born within six months of each other, the girls were placed into their new parents' arms in the same room on the same day. Two of those girls were Hannah Woller and Sophia Delp. And now they are rooming together as freshmen at Cedarville University.

When The Gospel Coalition launched a worldwide essay competition for young writers focusing on Gen Z this summer, two junior Cedarville University professional writing and information design (PWID) students boldly answered the call. Out of 217 submissions, Abby Jo Thompson won first place in the competition with her submission "Gen Z Needs a Place at Your Kitchen Table," and Crissa Esse won second place with her essay "Faithful Pastors, You Matter to Your Youth."

Most college students start school at the age of 18 and graduate four years later. But for one Cedarville University senior majoring in computer science, he's getting a major head start. David-Bryne Adedeji from Lagos, Nigeria is set to graduate Saturday, May 6 from Cedarville's computer science program at the young age of 19.

Liz Breedlove, 20, will start a one-of-a-kind internship with Dayton Children's Hospital's multi-clinical The Center for the Female Athlete. She will begin the internship on May 30. For Breedlove, a native of Big Island, Virginia, securing the internship will help her as she pursues a master's degree in athletic training from Cedarville University in Ohio. Breedlove is enrolled in the accelerated sport medicine track at Cedarville and transitioned into the master's program summer of 2022.

PA Program Launch
Cedarville University is a step closer to enrolling its inaugural cohort in the new physician assistant (PA) program with student orientation and faculty hires completed. The program, which received Accreditation-Provisional* status from the ARC-PA last fall, begins on May 8. The graduate program held an on-campus in person orientation on March 3 for its first cohort of students. The orientation included an introduction to Cedarville University's administration and campus services, interaction with faculty, staff and the opportunity to interact as classmates.

The winning song, titled "You Are Enough," was co-written by four senior worship majors: Lilly Sturgis, from Linden, Michigan; Caleb Stanton, from Ypsilanti, Michigan; Ryan Lee, from Novi, Michigan; and Noah Ayers, from Cedarville, Ohio.

A Second Graduation: From Cancer to Doctor of Pharmacy Degrees
Tracee and Earnest Campbell had no idea what they'd have to go through to earn their degrees from Cedarville University's School of Pharmacy after years of already working in the pharmacy industry. Persevering through a trying battle with breast cancer, the couple will receive their Doctor of Pharmacy degrees at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 6 - tried, tested and prepared for what's next.
